According to the tradition of every year, liquor vends were closed on January 1, but this time the government has made a change in it. Under the new order, liquor vends will remain open on January 01 also. This decision will provide relief to liquor lovers and they will not need to buy extra liquor before the New Year.
The Excise Department had also provided the facility of temporary license in view of Christmas and New Year events. The fee was fixed at Rs 1,000 for organizing an event in a private place, Rs 4,500 for an event in a society (permission of RWA is mandatory) and Rs 11,000 for an event in a public place, club or restaurant. The entire process was kept online, so that the organizers do not face any problem.
