Heavy Rain Alert: Rain continues to wreak havoc in North India. There is a warning of heavy rains in Himachal, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, while flood-like conditions have been created in many districts of Rajasthan.
Weather update on 25 August: The situation has deteriorated due to continuous rains in Uttarakhand, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. Landslides are taking place in the hilly areas, which has affected roads and traffic. A cloudburst in Dalhousie of Himachal caused a sudden flood in Guniyala village. During this time a bridge and five vehicles were swept away.
Warning of heavy rain for next two days
Hardaspur village of Chamba has been flooded with houses. Apart from this, Manali-Kiratpur Fourlane remained closed for about 10 hours, which has now been opened. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days and appealed to people to stay away from rivers and drains.
Rain havoc in Rajasthan
The process of rain continues in many districts of Rajasthan. Floods like Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk and Bundi have been created. Three people died after a house collapsed in Nagaur and Kota. The Air Force Mi-17 helicopter has been installed in Kota for relief work. In view of the warning of heavy rains, schools have been closed in many districts. On Monday, there will be a holiday in Sikar, Kotputli-Bahrod, Sirohi, Bundi and Bhilwara. At the same time, schools will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday in Jaipur, Dausa, Nagaur, Didwana-Kuchaman and Tonk.

Bridge shed in Pathankot
People are facing a lot of problems due to torrential rains in Pathankot. A bridge was washed away due to heavy rains. The administration has stopped movement of it due to the threat on the new bridge. This closed the Pathankot-Jalandhar National Highway. The administration has appealed people to visit safe places.
Chambal havoc in Madhya Pradesh
The effect of rains in Rajasthan is also visible on Madhya Pradesh. There are flood -like conditions in Bhind, Morena and Sheopur as the water level of Chambal river rises. 22 villages of Morena have become islands and water has entered 90 villages. On Sunday, the Chambal river reached above the danger mark in Bhind.
