In the year 2025, under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the Labor Department of UP made historic reforms. E-courts, employment missions, ESI health services, construction workers welfare and international employment initiatives provided new direction to the workers.

Lucknow. The year 2025 turns out to be a historic and transformative year from the point of view of the Labor Department of Uttar Pradesh and labor welfare. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Labor and Employment Department played an important role in protecting the interests of the workers as well as in the goal of taking the state’s economy to one trillion dollars. This year was also special because during this time four labor codes were notified by the Government of India, which is considered a big step towards strengthening the interests of workers.

Industrial expansion: Registration of factories more than doubled

Principal Secretary Labor and Employment Dr. Shanmuga Sundaram said that the direct impact of the labor reform policies of the Yogi government was seen in the form of industrial development in the state. By 2025, registration of factories will more than double compared to the previous eight years.

This not only created new employment opportunities but also strengthened the industrial environment of the state. The year 2025 was also important for women workers, where they were provided with more secure, empowering and favorable working conditions.

Labor Nyay Setu: Digital labor justice through e-court system

Labor Department took digital initiative to make hearing of pending cases under Labor Acts simple, transparent and faster. On August 26, 2025, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched ‘Shram Nyay Setu/Labor e-Court Platform’. The platform became a successful example of paperless governance and was awarded in the ‘Paperless Governance Champion’ category at the 19th National Digital Transformation Awards 2025.

Employment Directorate and Employment Mission: Initiative to connect youth with jobs

Uttar Pradesh Employment Mission was formed with the aim of providing employment to the youth of the state. Under this, employment opportunities were promoted not only within the country but also abroad. Rozgar Sangam portal was linked to 5 recruitment agencies registered with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), opening new avenues for international employment. The Rojgar Mahakumbh 2025 held at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan, Lucknow led to the selection and placement of more than 16,000 youth, while 1,612 youth were shortlisted for employment abroad.

International Mobility Conclave 2025: Roadmap to global employment

International Mobility Conclave 2025 was organized in Varanasi on 18 December 2025. It was attended by the Government of India, international organizations, ambassadors, recruitment agencies and industry associations. On this occasion, MoUs were signed and a roadmap for an Integrated International Employment Facilitation Mechanism was prepared.

ESI Scheme: Modern health services for workers

“Arogya Manthan 2025” was organized in Kanpur on 11 December 2025 with the aim of providing better health facilities to the insured workers. During this, QR code based ‘Microsoft Arogya Shakti Abhiyan’ was launched, Arogya Sankalp Patra was released and AAA+ App was launched. Through this app, workers will be able to get doctor appointments, home delivery of medicines and medical reports digitally while sitting at home. Besides, an initiative was also taken to implement the best practices of ESIC Premier Institutes of Chennai, Hyderabad and Faridabad in Uttar Pradesh.

Construction Workers Welfare: Focus on Health, Education and Skills

Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board launched several new initiatives for construction workers. A mobile medical unit for on-site free health check-up was launched on 23 December 2025, with a target to screen 10,000 workers in the first phase. A 360 degree live monitoring command center was established to monitor the Atal Residential Schools operating in 18 districts of the state, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 26 August 2025.

Increase in RPL training and girl marriage assistance

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) training was introduced at construction sites, ensuring certification and upgrading of workers’ skills. Along with this, financial assistance was increased in the Girl Marriage Assistance Scheme-

  • General Wedding: ₹65,000
  • Inter-caste marriage: ₹75,000
  • On mass marriage of minimum 11 couples: ₹85,000 per couple
