Premanand Maharaj
Premanand Maharaj’s statement: Today in the world of spirituality, Premanand Maharaj is such a name, whose philosophy and thoughts are guiding crores of people. Often there is a dilemma in the minds of devotees that they are not able to worship God due to adverse circumstances or lack of comforts and facilities. Recently a devotee asked a question to Maharaj Ji, “My mind says that if there was a good system, the bhajan would have been better. The answer given by Premanand Maharaj while removing this dilemma is enough to open anyone’s eyes.
True feelings awaken only in discomfort
Premanand Maharaj says that our mind often deceives us by saying that if we get comforts and facilities, we will be able to chant the name or bhajan in a better way. But the reality is that when a person has scarcity, his connection with God is deepest.
When someone has only dry bread and vegetables, he cries while offering it to the Lord, ‘Lord, I am poor, I have nothing to give you.’ This feeling of humility is most dear to God.”
danger of convenience and ego
According to Premanand Maharaj, when a person has a lot of money and offers ‘Chhappan Bhog’ to God, then unconsciously he becomes proud in his mind that “I am doing so much.” God is not hungry for pleasures, He only sees the feelings of the devotee. Convenience often gives rise to ego, which is the biggest obstacle in the path of devotion.
Where is God?
Premanand Maharaj gave a very beautiful answer. When a devotee is hungry and someone suddenly gives him food, he experiences the miracle of God in person. There trust is only in God.
How can rich people do true devotion?
Premanand Maharaj showed the path even for the rich people. He said that if you have property, do not consider it yours. Referring to the words of Goswami Tulsidas ji, he said, Nath, all the wealth is yours, I am a sleeping woman along with the servant.” That is, a person should not consider himself the owner of property, but a servant of God.
As is the food, so is the hymn
He shared a bitter truth on the relationship between food and bhajan. He said that the more delicious and luxurious the food, the more tasteless will be his bhajan. The person who remains satisfied with dry food is able to descend deeper into the feet of God. While giving a lesson to the devotees, Premanand Maharaj said that they should stop worrying about changing their circumstances. If you learn to do bhajan in adverse circumstances today, then even if the situation improves tomorrow, you will never waver from your path. Focus only on ‘Naam Japa’, not on the system.
