Paush Putrada Ekadashi Fast Story: There are 24 Ekadashi dates in a year. Special worship of Lord Vishnu is done on every Ekadashi. Besides, fasting is also observed on Ekadashi. Fasting on Ekadashi provides salvation after death and a place at the feet of Shri Hari in Vaikuntha Dham. The fast of Paush Putrada Ekadashi is observed on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Paush month. Today is the fast of Pausha Putrada Ekadashi.
By observing a fast on this day, one prays to Lord Vishnu for the happiness of the life of the child. On the day of Pausha Putrada Ekadashi, the fast story is also read and heard during the puja, because reciting or listening to the fast story on this day brings happiness in the life of the child. On the other hand, if the fast story is not read or heard during the puja on the day of Pausha Putrada Ekadashi, then the fast and puja remain incomplete.

According to religious and mythological stories, in ancient times the rule of King Sanketman was on the banks of river Bhadravati. The king had immense wealth, but he did not have the happiness of children. For this reason the king and his wife Shaivya were always sad. The king was also worried about who would take over his throne after his death. In whose hands will the salvation of their ancestors come?
The king thought that if he did not have a child, neither would the kingdom get an heir nor would his ancestors get salvation. One day, with a sad heart, King Sanketman left the entire kingdom and then went towards the forest. The king met many sages in the forest. The king told the sages the reason for his sorrow. After listening to the king, the sages advised him to observe the fast of Putrada Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Paush month.
After this the king again returned to his kingdom. Then the king did exactly what the sages advised him. The king observed fast and worshiped on Pausha Putrada Ekadashi as per the rituals. Due to the effect of the fast, his queen became pregnant and the king was blessed with a son. It is believed that the fasting of Pausha Putrada Ekadashi started after this time. It is believed that by observing this fast all problems related to children are removed.
