Also there are terrible creatures in it. There are flames. A person who commits bad deeds during his lifetime has to cross this river Vaitarani. On the other hand, if a person donates a cow before his death, then he does not face any difficulty in crossing the river Vaitarani.

What are the benefits of cow donation?

It is said that if a person donates a cow before death, the cow appears on the banks of river Vaitarani. Then the soul easily crosses the river Vaitarani by holding the tail of the cow. According to Hindu beliefs, the soul of a person who donates a cow is not troubled by even the messengers of Yamraj. Such a person gets salvation or a place in heaven after death. Cow donation reduces the effects of sin.
