On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the system of digital monitoring, Aadhaar based verification and regular monitoring has been implemented in the scheme. This has made the pension distribution system more transparent and ensured that government assistance reaches only the genuine beneficiaries.

Pension beneficiaries to reach 67.50 lakh in 2025

While in the year 2024, 61.00 lakh elderly people were getting benefits under the National Old Age Pension Scheme, in the year 2025 this number has increased to 67.50 lakh. Ineligible and deceased beneficiaries removed from regular verification

Constant verification and review was done by the Social Welfare Department to maintain transparency and sanctity of the scheme. Under this, the names of 1.77 lakh deceased and ineligible beneficiaries in the year 2024 and 3.32 lakh in the year 2025 were removed from the pension list. Through this process it was ensured that the pension amount was received only by eligible senior citizens.
