The viral video, recorded by the man himself, shows him publicly confronting Ghani and accusing him and his party of ruining Karachi. Ghani looks uncomfortable during this conversation and walks away, while the man follows him, speaking angrily. The clip has drawn strong and mixed reactions online. Many users criticized the PPP, while others questioned the manner and language used during the confrontation.
‘You have ruined my city,’ the man told Saeed Ghani
In the video, the man, who appears to be an expatriate Pakistani, says that he left Karachi more than 32 years ago because people like him (Ghani) ruined his city. He tells Saeed Ghani that people like him are responsible for the condition of the city. While recording the video, the man says, “You guys have really ruined my city.” He further says that he “fled” Karachi decades ago because of bad governance and corruption. When Ghani replies that this is the man’s own view, the man completely disagrees with it and insists that this is not an opinion but a fact. He keeps accusing the minister and PPP of corruption and bad governance.
The minister avoided confrontation and kept moving.
Throughout the video, Saeed Ghani does not get involved in any debate. He looks uncomfortable and keeps walking away from the camera. The man chases them for some distance and repeatedly tells them that they should be ashamed of themselves and their party (PPP). According to social media users who shared the clip, Ghani was in the mall with his son at that time. Some users praised the minister for remaining calm, while others said such anger reflected the deep frustration of the people of Karachi.
Anger and debate broke out on social media
This video quickly spread across all platforms, garnering thousands of comments. Many users strongly criticized the PPP, calling it corrupt and blaming it for Karachi’s poor infrastructure, governance problems, and poor living conditions.
Some comments praised the man for openly confronting a powerful politician, and said it was natural for people to feel angry when they have been ignored for years. Many users wrote that despite its huge contribution to Pakistan’s economy, Karachi has been ignored.
