It is drunk daily for its fat burning benefits, but it is not necessary that everyone gets the benefits. Therefore, the myth persists that drinking a glass of lemon water daily helps in reducing belly fat.

Does lemon water really reduce belly fat?

There is no scientific proof that drinking lemon water will only reduce belly fat. Nor does lemon water have any fat burning effect that would especially reduce the fat around the stomach.

But this does not mean that lemon water has no benefits. Experts say that if you drink lemon water instead of cold drinks, sweet tea or other sugary drinks, your daily calories can be reduced. This can help in weight loss over time.

Also, if there is no shortage of water in the body, the stomach also feels full and the craving to eat something frequently may reduce. But weight loss does not happen because of lemon, but because of reduced calories.

Vitamin C in Lemon

One lemon contains about 30 to 40 mg of vitamin C, which helps in meeting your daily vitamin C requirement. Therefore, lemon water can be an easy way to add vitamin C to the diet, but it should not be considered a cure or prescription for weight loss.

Experts say that belly fat cannot be reduced by any one drink, one food item or home remedy. Our body does not reduce fat from one place, but overall fat reduces.

Keep these things in mind

Dietitians say that if you want to reduce belly fat, then a balanced diet, daily physical activity and such healthy habits which you can follow for a long time are necessary. If you like lemon water, then you can make it a part of your healthy routine. But do not consider this as a magic solution for weight loss or reducing belly fat.
