Controversy arose over YouTuber Dhruv Rathi using Jhanvi Kapoor’s photo in his ‘Fake Beauty’ video. Rathi clarified when it was given a political colour. He said that the video was already planned and Jhanvi was used only for example.
There is no dearth of controversies in Bollywood. But this time the controversy has started not from the set of any film, but from a video thumbnail of Dhruv Rathi, who is called the Sultan of the YouTube world! Yes, Dhruv Rathi is now facing a lot of anger for using the photo of Bollywood actress Jhanvi Kapoor. Dhruv’s reply to this has now spread like wildfire on the internet.
What is this ‘thumbnail’ controversy?
Recently Dhruv Rathi had made a video on the effects of ‘fake beauty’ and cosmetic surgery. Jhanvi Kapoor’s old and today’s pictures (Before and After) were used in the thumbnail of this video. From this photo it seemed that there was plastic surgery behind the beauty of Jhanvi Kapoor. This thing displeased Jhanvi’s fans.
Beauty controversy took a political turn!
This matter did not remain just a film controversy. Jhanvi Kapoor recently shared a post raising her voice in favor of Bangladeshi Hindus. Soon after this video of Dhruv came out, such posts went viral on social media that “Dhruv Rathi is taking revenge on Jhanvi for speaking for Hindus. He is defaming her by questioning her beauty.” Hashtags like “Hindus Jaago” also started trending.
Dhruv Rathi’s befitting reply: “God has given you brain, use it!”
Dhruv Rathi did not remain silent on the allegations against him. He released a clarification video and reprimanded the netizens. He simply said, “God has given you a brain, use it a little. Don’t blindly believe every false post of the BJP IT cell.”
To prove his point, Dhruv also put forward some logic. “The day Jhanvi Kapoor posted, I uploaded a half-hour long video. Is it possible to make a video with so much research in just half an hour? This only shows that this video was planned in advance. Besides, I myself have made a reel on Bangladeshi Hindus. So why would I oppose them?” He asked question.
“I’m not even afraid of your father!”
Above all, a statement of Dhruv is now being discussed everywhere. “I don’t indirectly criticize anyone like you. If I have something to say, I say it straight to your face. Remember, I am not afraid of your father or any big Bollywood celebrity,” he challenged.
Why used only Jhanvi Kapoor’s photo?
Clarifying on this, Dhruv said, “This video is about the impact of plastic surgery on society. Jhanvi Kapoor is one of the very few actresses who has spoken openly about her surgery. Hence, her photo was used for example, and not to target her personally.”
At present, there has been no reaction from Jhanvi Kapoor on this controversy. But, this ‘deadly’ answer of Dhruv Rathi has started a new debate in Bollywood. Overall, this battle of YouTube vs Bollywood has now taken a new turn, that’s for sure!
