New Delhi: The entire country is shocked by the actions of Sia Goyal, the main accused in the Ketan Aggarwal murder. At present he is on police remand (jail) for three days. Meanwhile, there has been a big twist in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case in Meghalaya. Due to which the problems of main accused Sonam Raghuvanshi may increase. Actually, the Meghalaya government has filed an application in the Supreme Court against the bail granted to Sonam. She is the king’s wife and is accused of plotting to murder her husband. Meghalaya High Court had upheld Sonam’s bail, which has now been challenged in the Supreme Court.
Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta, on behalf of the Meghalaya government, placed the matter before a bench of Justice MM Sundaresh and Justice Sheel Nagu and sought an urgent hearing on Friday. The court said that it will consider it.
Government’s lawyer increased Sonam Raghuvanshi’s problems
- Tushar Mehta told the court, “This is the same case in which a woman took her husband to Meghalaya and got him murdered along with three associates. Then the body was thrown in a ditch. Earlier, Sonam’s bail plea had been rejected thrice on the grounds that she might abscond.”
- He further said, “Now the High Court has granted her bail saying that at the time of her arrest, the reasons for her arrest were not fully explained to her. Whereas in reality there was only a minor typing mistake in writing one section. If she comes out on bail, there is a serious risk of her absconding.”
- On this the bench asked whether he is to be released after the order of the High Court? Mehta replied ‘yes’ and requested that at least strict conditions be imposed on his bail so that he cannot abscond. The bench said it would consider the request for urgent listing on Friday.
What is the whole matter?
