India’s star all-rounder unleashed his beast mode and smashed four consecutive sixes and a boundary in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match.

Pandya came up with the powerful knock of 69 runs off 30 balls in Baroda’s SMAT game against Tamil Nadu, where the batter displayed his fiery batting prowess and hit powerful shots against Chennai Super Kings’ latest recruit . Notably, the five-time IPL champions paid a hefty sum of INR 2.2 Crore to bring Singh into their squad at IPL 2025 mega auction for the forthcoming season of the cash-rich league.

The match that took place at the Holkar Stadium saw Pandya guiding the side to a three-wicket win over Tamil Nadu. Pandya came in to bat at No. 6 when the side was struggling and reduced to 152/6 in the 16th over. While facing Gurjapneet in the 17th over, the star Indian all-rounder hit four consecutive maximums and a boundary. Notably, Singh gained recognition when he dismissed Virat Kohli during India’s practice session ahead of the Bangladesh Test series. Not only this, but he also dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara in the Ranji Trophy.

 

 

Baroda register three-wicket win over Tamil Nadu in SMAT

The game saw Tamil Nadu coming up with a huge 221 for six riding on the fifty by Narayan Jagadeesan as well as a quick 22-ball 42 by Vijay Shankar. However, Pandya singlehandedly helped Baroda get back on track, when the side was struggling at 152 for six. When Pandya was dismissed, Baroda still needed nine runs to win.
