Jaiswal had complained of stomach strain during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match for Mumbai on 16 December, after which he was admitted to the hospital. After this he had to stay in the hospital for a few days and that is why he was given a break from the initial matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy.

But now Jaiswal is ready to show the magic of the bat again. A report in Sportstar has revealed that Jaiswal will join the Mumbai squad on the evening of Monday 29 December. However, the team will play its third match in the group stage on Monday but Jaiswal will not be a part of it. He can return directly from the match against Goa on Wednesday 31st December. An official of the Mumbai team has been quoted as saying that Jaiswal is now completely fit.

Jaiswal will be seen filling the place of veteran opener Rohit Sharma in the Mumbai team. Rohit was a part of the first and second matches. In the first match, he scored a century against Sikkim, whereas in the second match against Uttarakhand, he could not open the account. The former Indian captain will no longer play in the future matches. In such a situation, Jaiswal’s return will strengthen Mumbai. Also, this match will be important for Jaiswal because with this he can gain his fitness and form in front of the selectors, which will help in selection for the ODI series against New Zealand.
