Scary battle like the sea: Even boyfriend’s bravery could not save Britney’s life
According to investigators, as soon as the crocodile attacked, it first grabbed one of Brittany’s hands in its jaws. Immediately after this he used his most dangerous weapon ‘Death Roll’ (rapid circular rotation). Brittany became helpless in front of this tremendous power of the crocodile. Her boyfriend Chance Ellison jumped into the water without caring for his life. The crocodile dragged both Clark and Alison underwater. Alison directly fought the cannibal underwater and somehow managed to free one of Brittany’s hands from its jaws. But the crocodile, which had become a beast, grabbed Brittany’s other hand in the next moment. After a long and bloody struggle, when the crocodile released the prey, Alison brought Brittany to the river bank and began performing CPR. By that time it was too late. The crocodile had completely separated one of Brittany’s arms from her body and the other arm was still partially attached. He died due to excessive bleeding on the way to the hospital.

Two 13 feet ‘monsters’ arrested: Which crocodile was the real killer?
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission ($FWC$) spokesman Chad Weber confirmed at a press conference that the boyfriend had tried his best to save himself. Immediately after this incident, the Wildlife Department launched a major search operation in the area and netted two huge alligators from the river. The length of one of these was 12 feet and the length of the other was a record 13 feet. Now the biggest suspense is that which of these two monsters attacked Brittany? To find out, $DNA$ samples of both the crocodiles have been taken and sent for forensic examination, so that the killer animal can be accurately identified.
Why did the alligator become so aggressive?
According to FWC officials, the initial investigation found no indication that anyone had provoked the alligator. Experts believe that the water level was lower at that time and the alligator may have become more aggressive due to protecting its territory. Apart from this, the breeding (mating) season of alligators starting from April also makes them more active and aggressive than usual. This combination of low water levels and breeding season increases the risk of dangerous encounters between humans and wildlife.

Invisible threat of mating season: Why did the hunter become aggressive without provocation?
According to wildlife experts, no such evidence has been found in the investigation which would suggest that the tourists had provoked or harassed the crocodile in any way. Officials have given two main reasons behind this. The first reason is that at that time the water level in the river was very low, due to which crocodiles become very aggressive regarding their territory. The second and most important reason is the ‘mating season’ (breeding season) of alligators, which starts in the beginning of April. During this period, these reptiles become many times more active and dangerous than normal. The Wildlife Department has issued a strict warning for people to avoid going around freshwater sources like rivers and lakes this season as one never knows when they will face death beneath the calm-looking waters.
