ED action at many places simultaneously
According to the information, the Enforcement Directorate team conducted a simultaneous search operation at about 10 places in Kerala on Wednesday. These are said to include Pinarayi Vijayan’s rented residence in Thiruvananthapuram, his ancestral house in Kannur and the house of his daughter Veena Vijayan. According to sources, the ED team was investigating aspects related to documents and financial transactions. However, detailed information has not yet been made public officially by the agency.

The matter regarding which this action is being taken is said to be related to CMRL i.e. Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited. There are allegations that alleged irregularities took place through certain financial transactions and business agreements. In this connection, the name of Veena Vijayan and her company Exalogic Solutions Private Limited had come up.
The opposition has been raising questions on the state government and the left parties regarding this matter for a long time. The ruling party says that the investigating agencies are being used to create political pressure.
Tension increased as soon as ED team came out
During the raid, CPM workers and supporters started protesting at many places. According to reports, when the ED team completed the operation and started leaving, some supporters tried to stop them at the gate.
Sloganeering and pushing and shoving situations were also seen on the spot. At some places, protesters surrounded the vehicles of ED officers. Media reports also claimed that the windows of some vehicles were broken.
Seeing the situation becoming tense, the local police and senior party leaders had to intervene. After a prolonged uproar, the officers were safely evacuated from there and taken to the police station.
