Alberto Fernández wiped out his opponents and secured pole position in the Moto2 European Championship at Estoril

The final pole position of the Moto2 European Championship season belongs to Alberto Fernández, who delivered a commanding performance this Tuesday at the Estoril Circuit.

Riding for Finetwork Team, the Spaniard led from his very first flying lap and cemented his dominance with a best time of 1m38.113s, which no other rider could surpass.

Unai Orradre (STV Laglisse Racing) came closest, finishing 0.556s behind. Alberto Surra (Team Ciatti-Boscoscuro) followed in third, with his teammate Mattia Casadei securing fourth.

Championship leader Roberto García (Fantic Cardoso Racing) advanced from Q1 to complete the top five. García holds a 19-point lead over Casadei and has the advantage in the number of wins, meaning a 10th-place finish in tomorrow’s race would be enough to clinch the title even if Casadei takes victory.
