Panchak in July 2026: In the scriptures of Sanatan Dharma, five days of every month are considered inauspicious. In astrology, these inauspicious days are related to the transit of the Moon. These five inauspicious days of every month are known as Panchak. No auspicious or auspicious work is done in Sanatan Dharma during Panchak period. Pundits and astrologers advise taking special precautions during Panchak.
According to astrology, when the Moon transits from Aquarius to Pisces, it appears in five constellations. Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada and When Revati passes through the constellation, it is considered to be the time of Panchak Kaal. Panchak is going to start from 4th Saturday in the month of July. The Panchak starting on Saturday has been called Mrityu Panchak in the scriptures. This is the most inauspicious among all the Panchaks.
July 2026 Time of Death Panchak
According to Drik Panchang, Panchak will start on the 4th of July at 12:48 in the night. It will end on July 08 at 04 pm. Since the fourth day is Saturday, it will be called Mrityu Panchak.
Take these precautions during death Panchak
Not wood related work: It is inauspicious to collect wood and do any work related to it during Panchak, hence do not do any work with wood during this period.
No roofing work: Do not get the roof of the house sloped during Panchak. According to the scriptures, there is a possibility of financial loss and domestic troubles if the roof is sloped during Panchak.
Do not knit a cot: During Panchak, weaving a cot and buying a new bed is prohibited. By doing this work in Panchak, disease and trouble start residing in the house.
No southbound travel: Do not travel in the south direction during Mrityu Panchak. This direction is considered to be of Yama. If there is no urgent need, avoid traveling to the south at this time.
Last rites according to special method: If the last rites have to be performed during Panchak time, then make five effigies made of flour or Kush along with the dead body and keep them with the bier. After this, like the dead body, these effigies should also be cremated as per the rituals.
