Abhishek Bachchan is seen playing the lead role in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘I Want to Talk’. This film is the first project of Abhishek Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar with each other. In an exclusive conversation with TV9 Hindi Digital, Shoojit Sircar told interesting things about the connection of this film with his friend Irrfan Khan and the casting of Abhishek Bachchan for the role of this film.
Shoojit Sircar said that although Irrfan remains in my mind all the time. Whatever script I write, Irrfan definitely comes to my mind. Every film of mine, I write keeping that in mind. By the time we started working on this film, Irrfan was no longer in this world. But these are the middle-aged characters that Irrfan Khan used to play. After Irfan’s departure, there was a gap between them. I wanted an actor for the character he used to play. But I was not able to find that actor and in the meantime I met Abhishek Bachchan.
How did Abhishek get the film?
Shoojit Sircar told that when Coronation And when I met, we talked about a lot. Abhishek told me that he wants to work with me. He also explained to me why he wanted to work with me. After talking to him, I thought, what will Abhishek be like to fill this gap of Irrfan? Then I started working with Abhishek. We worked on the script with Abhishek, worked on acting, discussed the character, had workshops and everything went very well. I believe that Abhishek Bachchan is a perfect choice for this character.
