Fenugreek leaves contain alkaloids, which give it a bitter taste. Due to the bitter taste of fenugreek, many people are unable to eat it. Today we will tell you some tricks which you can try to reduce its bitterness.

Add lemon and salt and boil
– Boil water in a pan and add leaves in it and let it heat for 1-2 minutes. Mix salt and lemon juice and let the fenugreek leaves soften a little. After this, filter the leaves and wash them 3-4 times with cold water. This process reduces the bitterness and retains the dark green color of fenugreek.

add sour things
Fenugreek contains alkaloids, which make fenugreek bitter. If you add some sour things to fenugreek, its bitterness can be reduced effectively. To soften the flavor of fenugreek, adding lemon juice, curd or tamarind pulp while cooking can create a unique flavor.

Mix with other vegetables
If you do not like the bitterness of fenugreek curry, you can reduce it by mixing it with vegetables like carrots, peas, potatoes, cabbage etc. With this you will not detect bitterness. These other vegetables absorb some of the bitterness and provide a balanced flavor.

Cook fenugreek with alum.
Can be used to accomplish many tasks. Along with the sharpness of chilli, it also removes the bitterness of fenugreek. For this, first of all wash fenugreek with cold water 2-3 times. – After this, add water and 1 teaspoon alum powder in a pan and heat it. Add fenugreek to it and heat it for 2-3 minutes. Remove fenugreek and wash it with cold water 3-4 times. This will stop the ripening process of fenugreek and it will not become bitter.

Add salt
Another way to remove the bitterness of fenugreek seeds is to fry them with salt for some time. If you are making vegetables, first heat a pan, add fenugreek seeds and a pinch of salt and fry for a few seconds. After about 15-20 seconds, turn off the flame and wash the fenugreek with cold water and then dry it and make a vegetable.
