Shivpal Yadav accused BJP of rigging and officials of bias

Bareilly, 21 November (HS). On Thursday, senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Singh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP regarding the by-elections. Accusing BJP of rigging, he said that despite having absolute majority, there was no need for the kind of character shown by BJP in the by-elections. Shivpal claimed that despite BJP’s rigging, SP will win 5 to 6 seats.

MLA SP leader Shivpal Yadav, who came to the residence of former MP and SP District President Veerpal Yadav to condole his brother’s death, targeted the BJP and said that the ruling party misused the government machinery in the elections. His allegation was that under the BJP rule, officers are contesting elections and even the SSP is seen asking for votes. He said, “We are preparing a list of such officers. “They will be complained to the Election Commission and when the time comes, action will be taken against them.”

Shivpal Singh Yadav also made serious allegations against BJP leaders and ministers. He said that no BJP minister is honest. Shivpal also claimed that the BJP has tried to ensure its victory in the by-elections by misusing power.

Shivpal Yadav expressed confidence that despite all the efforts and rigging of BJP, Samajwadi Party has fought strongly. He said, “Even though BJP has used administrative machinery, SP’s performance has been excellent. We are confident that we will win 5 to 6 seats.”

Shivpal Yadav alleged that many officials openly supported BJP during the elections. He said that it is extremely shameful that instead of remaining neutral, administrative officials were seen taking sides with the ruling party. Warning of strict action against the officials, Shivpal said that their names will be sent to the Election Commission and legal action will be taken when the time comes.

BJP’s abuse of power

Shivpal said that BJP is already in absolute majority, yet it indulged in unnecessary rigging and misuse of power in the by-elections. He called it dangerous for democracy and said that the ruling party should have played a leading role in conducting fair and transparent elections. Shivpal Singh Yadav said that Samajwadi Party will continue to fight against such violation of democratic rights. He said that SP has won the support of the public and this by-election is a proof of its strong performance.
