Cooperative pavilion was inaugurated on Monday at Sonpur fair in Bihar. On this occasion, Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar started the program. 12 stalls have been set up in this 4000 square feet pavilion. In these, products of many cooperative societies are being exhibited and sold. Especially priority has been given to women’s cooperative societies and khadi-weaver societies. The objective of this pavilion is to convey the importance of cooperation to the tourists and to connect people with cooperative schemes.
Many products have become the center of attraction in the stalls set up in the Co-operative Pavilion. KGN Primary Dhurad Cooperative Society has displayed products like woolen clothes, shawls, and sweaters. At the same time, Rupganj Mahila Khadi Sahayog Samiti is presenting clothes, gamchha, kurta and pajama made of khadi. Pragati Self-reliant Cooperative Society has provided food products like spices and Litti-Chokha. For Makhana products, Shri Mithila Makhana Farmers Organization displayed Makhana and its products at its stall.
Special stall for farmers and women
Vegfed is providing information and seeds and plants related to vegetable production to the farmers. Also, the cooperative bank publicized its schemes and motivated people to open more and more accounts. Women’s cooperative societies have been given priority and their products have been promoted, so that their income and employment can be improved.
Street drama for cooperative awareness
Street drama was also organized in the Co-operation Pavilion. In this, the importance and schemes of cooperation were explained in an interesting manner. The Cooperative Department tried to make it reach the common people. Through such events, people are being informed about the benefits of cooperative societies and their objectives.
Cooperative Minister’s address
In the program, Cooperative Minister Dr. Prem Kumar said that cooperative is a powerful medium to take the government schemes to every section of the society. He reiterated his resolve to make Bihar a leader in the field of cooperation. On this occasion, Sonpur MLA Dr. Ramanand Prasad and many senior officials of the Cooperative Department were also present. The successful organization of the program took a strong step towards giving new dimensions to cooperation.
