On the occasion of Brave Children’s Day, President Draupadi Murmu on Friday honored 20 exceptional children of the country with ‘Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award’. These children have been selected from 18 different states and union territories. Among these, one name that was most discussed was 14-year-old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar. The President himself presented this prestigious award to Vaibhav with his own hands, making this moment the most memorable moment of his life.
Which children get this award
This award is given to those Indian children who are above 5 years of age and below 18 years and who reside in India. They are selected by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Children who receive awards also get an opportunity to participate in the parade on the way to duty on Republic Day.
Award category and cash received
The Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award was earlier given in six categories, which included art and culture, bravery, innovation, education, social service and sports. Now science and technology have also been added to it. Under this award, the winner is given a medal, a certificate and a cash amount of Rs 1 lakh.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has surprised not only Indian cricket lovers but also former cricketers from all over the world with his game. In IPL, he created a stir by scoring a century in just 35 balls. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Vaibhav created history by scoring a century in just 36 balls. In the match played against Arunachal Pradesh, he played an explosive inning of 190 runs in 84 balls. He has become the third Indian batsman to score the fastest century in List-A cricket.
