But in the Hurun India Rich List of 2025, Indian-American CEO Jayshree Ullal has emerged as the richest Indian professional manager. He has assets worth about ₹50,170 crore, which is several times more than Nadella and Pichai.

Jayshree Ullal is the CEO and Chairperson of Arista Networks. She has been leading the company since 2008 and has made it a significant player in cloud and data center technology. Arista Networks records revenue of nearly $7 billion in 2024, up 20% from last year. Ullal owns about 3% of the company’s shares, which constitutes the largest part of his wealth. According to reports by Forbes and Hurun, their success is a great example of wealth creation in global technology companies.
Indian roots and education
Jayshree Ullal was born on 27 March 1961 in London, but completed her schooling in New Delhi. He later moved to America and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from San Francisco State University. After this he completed his master’s degree in Engineering Management and Leadership from Santa Clara University.
Jayshree’s career begins
Jayshree started her career in the semiconductor industry. He worked at Fairchild Semiconductor and Advanced Micro Devices, where he designed high-speed memory chips for IBM and Hitachi. She got into networking in the 1990s and joined Crescendo Communications. Here he worked on early Ethernet switching technology. In 1993, Crescendo was purchased by Cisco Systems and Ullal joined Cisco. He spent more than 15 years at Cisco and grew the Catalyst switching business to a $5 billion operation.
