Special focus on development of Scheduled Caste dominated villages

The state government is paying special attention to strengthening the infrastructure in Scheduled Caste dominated villages with the aim of strengthening social inclusion. By the year 2025-26, 12,492 villages with more than 40 percent Scheduled Caste population have been selected. The minimum population of these villages has been fixed at 500, so that the benefits of the schemes can reach maximum people effectively.

Expansion of basic facilities to improve rural living standards

Many important development works are being carried out in the selected Gram Panchayats to improve the living standards of the villagers. In these-

  • Drinking water and sanitation system
  • Construction of toilets in schools and Anganwadi centers
  • Installation of solar lights and street lights
  • Borewell and pipeline expansion
  • digital library
  • Construction of transformer, motor shed and crematorium

Through these facilities, efforts are being made to provide education, cleanliness and safe environment in rural areas.

Decentralized system implemented to speed up development works

Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation, Shri Shiv Prasad said that till now development works have been approved in 2,562 villages through UPSIDCO, the social welfare executive body. Out of these, work has been completed in 910 villages, while work is progressing rapidly in the remaining villages.

Executive role assigned to Gram Panchayats

In view of the terminal year of the scheme, a decentralized system has been implemented to expedite the development works. Under this, only Gram Panchayats have been designated as the executing agencies. While this system has simplified the administrative process, monitoring and accountability at the local level has also been strengthened.

Strengthening social inclusion through Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana

Through the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana, the Yogi government is not only strengthening the infrastructure in the villages, but is also taking concrete and visionary initiatives towards connecting the Scheduled Caste community with the mainstream of the society.
