Coldplay adds 2nd concert in Ahmedabad

The tickets for Coldplay’s fourth concert in India – at Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera, Ahmedabad on January 25, 2025 – went live on BookMyShow on Saturday at noon. However, the queues ran into lakhs again, leaving fans disappointed.

At around 12:30 pm, a new notification on the booking page stated, “Last few seats left for the show on January 25, 2025. A 2nd show has been added for January 26, 2025 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The queues will start at 12:45 pm today and the tickets will go live at 1 pm.” The same process followed for the 2nd concert too, as queues ran into lakhs once again as soon as the booking for the January 26, 2025 concert kicked off at 1 pm on Saturday.

Coldplay’s India tour

In September, Coldplay announced two shows on January 18 and 19, 2025, at the DY Patil Sports Stadium. The music group added a third concert on January 21 at the same venue on popular demand. The Enforcement Directorate began a probe in the alleged illegal sale of tickets of concerts of Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh after these events were sold out in just minutes on online ticketing platforms, including Zomato Live. Many of them then landed on unauthorised platforms where they were being sold at exorbitant prices.

A new show was added on popular demand, for January 25, 2025 in Ahmedabad. According to a press release by the ticketing platform, the multiple Grammy-award winning band will perform for a potential audience of 1,00,000 fans, making it “the biggest stadium show of their career.” The capacity of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is 1.32 lakh. This would make the concerts on both January 25 and 26 next year Coldplay’s biggest till date.
