Scoring 18 of his season-high 37 points in that period, Mitchell led the Cavaliers to their longest winning streak in franchise history. The team has now won its first 14 games of the 2004-05 season, matching the fourth-longest undefeated start in NBA history.
Mitchell’s success from beyond the arc was evident as he made seven out of 13 three-point attempts. Darius Garland also played a crucial role, contributing 29 points and nine assists. Cleveland started strong, making an impressive 19 of their first 22 field goal attempts to lead by 49-34 after the first quarter. Although they extended their lead to as much as 19 points in the second quarter, Chicago closed the gap to four by halftime thanks to Vucevic’s efforts.
In the third quarter, Chicago briefly took a one-point lead with White’s three-pointer. However, Cleveland responded with a decisive run to regain control. The Cavaliers sealed their victory with a late surge in which Mitchell scored nine points and LeVert added eight.
