President Draupadi Murmu honored 20 children including cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi with the PM Bal Puraskar.
On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, President Draupadi Murmu honored 20 children. The President honored children selected from 18 states and union territories with the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award. 14 year old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar was also included in this.
This award is organized in honor of the martyrdom of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. His sons Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh are also called Sahibzade. To honor the martyrdom of Sahibzadas, PM Modi had announced to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas on every 26th December in the year 2022.
What do you get in the prize?
The Prime Minister’s National Child Award was started in the year 1996 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development of the Central Government to honor children who have achieved extraordinary achievements in different fields. Children who receive this award participate in the Republic Day parade. In the year 2022, it was dedicated to the martyrdom of Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh and the date of its celebration was fixed as 26th December.
Every child who receives the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award is given a medal and a certificate. Along with this, an amount of Rs 1 lakh is also given as a prize.

Who can get this honor?
This honor is given to those children whose age is minimum 5 years and maximum 18 years. Being a citizen of India and living in the country is also a mandatory condition. In the year 2018, those children were included in it who made name for themselves in the field of bravery.

This honor is given in 7 categories. It included art-culture, bravery, innovation, education, social service and sports, but later science and technology were also added.

How to apply?
Applications for the Prime Minister’s National Child Award (PMRBP) 2025 usually start from April every year and continue till July. Applications for this can be made only through the online portal https://awards.gov.in. Any citizen, school, institution or organization can nominate their eligible candidates for the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award. Children can also apply by nominating themselves.
Applicants have to fill their personal details and award category. Along with this, they will have to upload a recently taken photo and supporting documents. They will also have to submit a description of their achievement and its impact-results in up to 500 words.
