Tiktok unblock rumors: The Government of India on Friday made it clear that no unlockening order has been given on tickets. Due to some media reports and social media posts, there was a rumor that Chinese video platform tickets could be used again in India. Sources in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology described it as completely false and misleading.

Tiktok still completely block

The tickets app in India is still not available on the App Store and Google Play Store. Some users were able to access the tickets website, but they could not upload or watch log in, videos. According to the Department of Telecommunications, Internet service provider is constantly creating blocks on the website. It is not clear how some users are able to access it.

Even though a clear refutation has been made by the government on tickets, there is no official statement about e-commerce and online shopping websites like Aliexpress and Shein. It is not yet clear whether these websites will run in India or not.

Ban on Chinese apps imposed in 2020

In June 2020, the Government of India banned 59 mobile apps, including popular apps such as tickets, UC Browser and WeChat. The move was aimed at India’s sovereignty, integrity, security and protecting the public system.

Why was the ban imposed on Chinese app?

The ban was imposed due to increasing border tension with China. On the night of 15–16 June 2020, there was a violent clash between the Indian Army and the Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley of East Ladakh. After this incident, Indo-China relations soured and the central government banned 59 Chinese apps in view of data security. According to Texperts, these apps were transferring the location and data of Indian users to the server in China.
