Not only Naresh Meena, there is a long list of leaders who slap officials in Rajasthan.

During voting in Rajasthan by-election, independent candidate from Deoli-Uniara seat Naresh Meena slapped SDM Amit Chaudhary. Now this slapping incident is making headlines in the politics of entire Rajasthan. While questions are being raised on the working style of the police because of slapping the SDM, the administration is being accused of negligence regarding the arrest of Naresh Meena. The matter of slapping Amit Chaudhary is also turning into a caste fight. Chaudhary comes from the Jat community, while Naresh belongs to the Meena community.

However, this is not the first case in Rajasthan politics, when a leader has been accused of slapping or beating officials. After 2010, many such cases have come up in the politics of Rajasthan, where leaders beat up officials to brighten their image.

Kirori Lal Meena’s first name in the list

In 2011, the then Dausa MP Kirori Lal Meena had also slapped a police officer. Actually, Kirori wanted to meet the District Magistrate regarding a matter. Meanwhile, the police officers were adamant on not letting them go.

At first Kirori argued with the officer but when things did not work out, he slapped the officer. In this case, a case was registered against Kirori Lal and he was arrested and sent to jail.

After Kirori was jailed, his supporters took to the streets. After weighing the political gains and losses, the then Ashok Gehlot government released Kirori.

Kirori Lal Meena is currently a senior minister in the Bhajanlal Sharma government. He is counted among the big leaders of the Meena community of the state.

Enraged over bribe, CP has also slapped

In November 2022, former BJP president CP Joshi, who was angry over bribery, has also slapped a government employee. Actually, the then Chittorgarh MP CP got the news that an employee of the Narcotics Department was demanding bribe.

Angered by this, the CP slapped the employee. CP got a lot of flak in this matter. However, no major punitive action was taken against them.

Chandna’s name is also among those who slapped.

In 2018, Rajasthan government’s Sports Minister Ashok Chandna was accused of beating JP Meena, an electricity department official. According to Meena, Chandna slapped her unnecessarily. At that time, this matter had gained a lot of importance politically.

Actually, Chandana was angry with the appointment of an employee of the electricity department in his area. Chandna said that the employee is not working properly yet the department officials do not want to remove him.

This incident also took the form of Meena versus Gurjar in Rajasthan. However, the then Ashok Gehlot government handled it well.

Dindore beats up government doctor

In January 2021, Ram Prasad Dindore, the then BTP MLA from Sagwara, slapped a government doctor during a hospital inspection. Dindore said that the doctors were not working properly and he was continuously receiving complaints.

This case gained so much momentum that the then Gehlot government had to hand over the investigation to CID-CB. However, no punitive action could be taken against Dindore. The reason for this is the politics of Rajasthan. Dindore had supported the Gehlot government in later days.

Mallinga broke the bone of Dalit officer

In 2022, the then Congress MLA Girraj Mallinga was accused of beating a Dalit officer of the electricity department. Electricity department official Harshapati Valmiki alleged that Mallinga and his supporters beat him severely over a matter.

A case was also registered in this case, but the then Ashok Gehlot government did not take any action against Mallinga. However, when the matter reached the high command level, Mallikarjun Kharge canceled Mallinga’s ticket for the 2023 elections, due to which an angry Mallinga joined BJP.
