If your blood sugar increases, it can prove to be very dangerous for health. Bengaluru’s doctor Akhila Joshi has shared a video on her Instagram page, in which she is telling about 5 bad habits that cause high blood sugar. If you protect yourself from these habits, then even after having diabetes, blood sugar will never be high.
what are bad habits
1- Drinking less water – Doctor Akhila says that although people generally drink less water, it is important for diabetic patients to drink more water. If you drink less water, blood sugar remains high and there is dehydration in the body. Due to lack of water in the body, the kidney has to work harder, due to which there is a risk of its failure.
2- Overeating- You are dieting and eating healthy food but you are overeating. So blood sugar will always remain high. Always eat less but healthy food. Eating too much rice or roti will increase your sugar rapidly and it will be difficult to control it.
3- Less sleep: Adequate sleep is very important for diabetic patients. If you sleep less than 6 hours, the sugar level will remain high and you will have to take insulin. Lack of sleep increases the desire to eat and maintains stress. Besides, less sleep also causes body pain and feeling of fatigue.
4- Meal Skip- Diabetic patients should never skip their breakfast, lunch or dinner. Eating it can spike your sugar. Not eating food affects your metabolism and you start overeating. Overeating increases sugar.
5- Routine checkup- Most diabetes patients think that sugar will remain under control by abstinence and they do not get their routine checkup done. Diabetic patients must undergo routine checkup, this helps to know at what level your diabetes is and whether it is affecting any other body part. Get it done on time.
