Yogi government has given a second chance to the underprivileged students in the post-secondary scholarship 2025–26. A new timetable has been issued for the general, OBC, minority, SC-ST students who were left out due to non-locking of master data.
Lucknow. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken another important decision in the interest of students. The Social Welfare Department has decided to give a second opportunity under the Post-Death Scholarship Scheme for the academic session 2025–26 to those eligible students who were deprived of the scholarship due to the master data not being locked on time. For this, the department has issued a revised timetable.
Students of all categories will get equal benefits
This revised system will be equally applicable to all eligible students of General Category, Other Backward Class (OBC), Minority Category, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST). The objective of the government is clear that no deserving student should be deprived of his studies only for financial reasons.
Scholarship process will be more transparent and time bound
Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge) Aseem Arun said that this revised program will make the scholarship process more transparent, simple, error-free and time-bound. With this, eligible students will be able to get the benefits of the scheme on time.
New deadline for master data lock and verification
According to Anand Kumar Singh, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department, educational institutions will prepare master data from December 23, 2025 to January 2, 2026. Universities and affiliating agencies will verify fees and student numbers from December 23 to January 9, 2026. The final verification by the District Social Welfare Officer will be completed by 15 January 2026.
Application Process for General, OBC and Minority Categories
- Last date for online application: 14 January 2026
- Hard copy of documents submitted to the institute: 21 January 2026
- Institution level verification: 27 January 2026
- Student Verification at University Level: 28 January to 7 February 2026
Data Scrutiny by NIC: 9 February 2026
- Payment of scholarship and fee reimbursement amount: By March 18, 2026
- The payment will be made through PFMS into the Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
Special relief to Scheduled Castes and Tribes
Students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category will be able to apply till 31 March 2026. After completion of all the formalities, the amount of scholarship and fee reimbursement will be provided to the students of these classes till 22 June 2026. This decision shows the strong commitment of the Yogi government towards social justice.
Appeal to follow the timetable
Deputy Director Anand Kumar Singh has appealed to all educational institutions, universities and students to strictly follow the timetable issued, so that the scholarship process can be completed without any hindrance.
