From Narada Purana to Goddess Bhagwat, Radha Rani’s hidden spiritual form
Whenever the name of Shri Krishna is taken, Radha Rani is naturally remembered as well. The names of Radha and Krishna are not taken separately, but in the same breath. But the question arises, who is Radha Rani? And why is the scriptures considered him the highest symbol of devotion?
Taking the name of Radha Rani is not only to remember a love story, but it is a practice of devotion, compassion and surrender. The scriptures have clarified that just as Krishna is incomplete without Radha, so Radha is incomplete without devotion. This is the reason that even today when a devotee says “Radhe-Radhe”, there is a flow of love and bliss in his heart.
Radha mention in Narada Purana
In Narada Purana, Radha is not described as an ordinary gopi, but as a statue of devotion. It states that just as the night of the moon is incomplete, so Krishna’s Leela is incomplete without Radha. In the Purana, Radha is described as reflection of Krishna’s bliss form. Without him, Shri Krishna’s love is considered incomplete and incomplete. This is the reason that Narada Purana calls Radha the form of ultimate devotion.
Devi Bhagwat’s approach

Radha’s glorification in Brahmavaivarta Purana
A special episode comes in the Brahmavaivarta Purana, where the glory of Radha Rani is said to be so great that the gods also worship at his feet. It mentions that the seeker who chants the name of Radha, sins are destroyed from his life and he gets a boon of Krishna devotion easily. This is the reason that many Vaishnavas take the name of “Radhe-Krishna”, not only “Krishna”.
Vaishnava tradition and interpretation of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu
Bhaktikal and Vaishnav tradition established Radha at even higher. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu described Radha and Krishna as “two forms of a soul”. According to him, if Krishna is power, then Radha is the Shakti Swaroopa, from which there is a flow of devotion, compassion and love. This is the reason that even today in Vrindavan and Nandgaon, Radha is called the “mother of devotion” and “Jagat Janani”.
Geetgovind and devotional literature
Radha-Krishna’s love in Geetgovind composed by Jaydev was considered the highest point of spiritual practice. The nature of Radha in this book symbolizes the relationship of the devotee and God. The devotee suffers like Radha to get his beloved God and Krishna resides in the heart of the devotee by turning that yearning into love.
