Ottawa/New Delhi. In Canada, a 44-year-old man of Indian origin died after not getting treatment in the hospital for several hours. According to Global News reports, Prashant Sreekumar was taken to Gray Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Canada after he complained of severe chest pain while at work on December 22. Here he was kept in the waiting area of the emergency room for more than 8 hours. After this incident, serious questions are being raised regarding emergency healthcare response in Canada.
Taken to hospital after complaining of chest pain
According to reports, Prashant Sreekumar’s family said that after complaining of chest pain, a client took him to Gray Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, where he was checked. After this he was made to sit in the waiting room. Within some time, Prashant’s father Kumar Shrikumar also reached the hospital. According to him, my son was in so much pain that he told me, ‘Papa, I am not able to bear the pain.’

After ECG the hospital said, nothing serious
After this, Prashant’s father immediately complained to the hospital staff, after which an electrocardiogram (ECG) was done to check the functioning of his heart. However, Prashant and his family were told that there was nothing serious, you guys should wait. As time passed, the hospital staff gave Prashant some medicines for pain, but his blood pressure continued to rise.
Prashant fell down with his hand on his chest and did not get up again.
Prashant’s father told that after waiting for a long time for 8 hours, he was finally called to the treatment area. Then after sitting for 10 seconds, Prashant looked at me and fell down keeping his hand on his chest. After this the nurses tried to bring him back to consciousness, but by then it was too late. It is being told that Prashant Srikumar died of cardiac arrest. Prashant Sreekumar leaves behind his wife and three children. The ages of the children are 3, 10 and 14 years.
