Yashasvi Jaiswal: Team India’s opener Yashasvi Jaiswal plays regularly in the Test team but his place in ODI and T20 is no longer confirmed. The interesting thing is that this left-handed batsman has proved his mettle in all three formats but in the white ball formats, he is being kept out of the team. Be it T20 or ODI format, it is difficult for Yashasvi Jaiswal to get a place in the team. Former veteran cricketer of Team India and former selector Dilip Vengsarkar, who selected Virat Kohli in international cricket, believes that Yashasvi Jaiswal is being broken from within.

Dilip Vengsarkar said, ‘Nobody should drop the match winner from the team. It is unfortunate that Yashasvi is being kept out of the team again and again without any mistake. He has been in great form across all formats of the game and I don’t know what else he needs to do to make it into the team. If you are made to feel that you are not needed in any one format, then your confidence is bound to decrease. I mean, this will affect their confidence and this game is a game of confidence, and confidence comes when you perform brilliantly on the basis of runs.
Yashasvi will be out of ODI team
Recently, in the absence of Shubman Gill, this player got a chance to open in ODIs. He also scored a century in the third ODI against South Africa, but now he will be out of the ODI series against New Zealand because Shubman Gill will return in this series and he will open with Rohit Sharma.
Yashasvi has no place in T20 team
Surprisingly, Yashasvi Jaiswal did not get a place in Team India even for the T20 World Cup and New Zealand T20 series, whereas his record in T20 International is amazing. He has scored a century in this format and his average is more than 36. Not only this, his strike rate is also beyond 160 which is amazing but despite this he is out of Team India in this format also. Recently, Ishan Kishan was selected in place of Gill for the New Zealand T20 series and T20 World Cup because Team India needed a wicketkeeper and opening batsman. Whereas in the current era, there is no better batsman than Yashasvi Jaiswal in opening and his performance also proves this.
Dilip Vengsarkar said that it was the right decision to drop Shubman Gill but he would have chosen Jaiswal in his place. He said, ‘They are all excellent players, but I am with the selection committee that it is absolutely right when they judge the players on the basis of their current form and fitness. And if you ask me who I would have chosen in place of Gill, my choice would have been Jaiswal. He has proven time and again what a great player he is and has always given the team the kind of start that is needed these days,’
