Indian vlogger detained for 15 hours at Guangzhou airport in China after posting on Arunachal Pradesh Without food, interrogated and not allowed contact with the embassy—the incident raised many questions.
Indian Vlogger Detained In China: Questions have once again arisen regarding the treatment of Indian citizens in China. An Indian travel vlogger is claimed to have been detained for 15 hours at China’s Guangzhou airport after giving an emotional response to an issue related to Arunachal Pradesh. The vlogger says that during this time he was interrogated, his luggage was searched and the most serious thing – he was not even allowed to contact the Indian Embassy. This matter has come to light at a time when, just a few weeks ago, a woman from Arunachal Pradesh had also alleged detention in China and her passport being declared invalid.
Who is this Indian vlogger and why was he stopped?
This Indian YouTuber is known by the name of “On Road Indian”. The vlogger claimed in a YouTube video that he had reached Guangzhou Airport on November 16 to meet a friend. After the immigration process was completed, when his passport was about to be stamped, he was suddenly stopped. The vlogger says that he had recently expressed his feelings in a video related to Arunachal Pradesh. He has studied in North-East India for three years and feels a deep connection to the region.

How did the environment change after immigration?
According to the vlogger, a senior officer was called and he was taken to a separate detention area without any concrete reason. There he also saw some other foreign nationals, which further increased his concern. After about two hours, two officers started interrogating him. Initially the conversation was normal, but later his camera, mobile phone and personal belongings were searched and the devices were confiscated.
15 or 28 hours without food – what is the truth?
The vlogger claims that he was denied food for 15 hours during his detention, while at one point he also says that in total he was denied food for more than 28 hours. The most surprising thing was that he was not even allowed to contact the Indian Embassy.

Is this just a phenomenon or a pattern?
This case does not appear to be isolated. Earlier, Pem Wang, a woman from Thongdok, Arunachal Pradesh, was detained for more than 18 hours at the Shanghai airport. At that time the Chinese authorities had declared his Indian passport invalid on the basis of birthplace.
Vlogger’s appeal and message
After being released, the vlogger returned to India and said that he was sharing this video not under any pressure but to express his point. She appealed to the Indian and Chinese embassies to understand the issue and deal with such cases in future. This incident is not just about a vlogger but gives rise to serious questions related to freedom of expression, safety of passengers and India-China relations—which are yet to be answered.
