Ranveer Singh Don 3: Fresh uncertainty has surrounded Ranveer Singh after reports claimed that the actor had been removed from Don 3, the upcoming instalment of Farhan Akhtar’s ambitious action franchise.
Initial speculation suggested that the decision was linked to the success of Dhurandhar, but a fresh update has dismissed that narrative and offered a more complex explanation.
Don 3 setback explained
Industry insiders have told News9Live that Ranveer has not voluntarily walked away from the project. Instead, it has been claimed that he was removed following disagreements with the makers. These issues were described as mutual but ultimately irreconcilable. As a result, his association with Don 3 was reportedly ended by the production team.
According to sources, the situation is believed to have escalated after the release of Dhurandhar. While the film has delivered strong box-office numbers, the wider industry response is said to have focused heavily on Akshaye Khanna’s performance and director Aditya Dhar’s vision. Trade circles have reportedly been slow to label the film as a defining Ranveer Singh success. This outcome is said to have fallen short of expectations held by the actor and his team.
Sources further claimed that, with Don 3 scheduled to go on floors within weeks, Ranveer allegedly began pushing for major creative changes and production-related demands. These requests were reportedly viewed as unrealistic by the makers. Given the scale of the franchise, where credit traditionally leans towards the brand and its creator, the demands were said to be unacceptable. Talks eventually broke down, leading to his reported exit.
No official statement yet
No official statement has been issued so far by Ranveer Singh or the makers of Don 3. The silence has only added to the speculation, especially as the film has already faced casting changes. Earlier, Kiara Advani stepped away from the project following her pregnancy and the birth of her child. Kriti Sanon was later reported to have been brought on board.
Amid the ongoing chatter, Ranveer was recently spotted at Mumbai airport with his wife, Deepika Padukone. The couple was seen dressed in coordinated black outfits, holding hands and smiling at the paparazzi as they departed for a vacation.
