All eyes are on Sky as he sets his sights on some remarkable personal milestones that could add another chapter to his T20I legacy. Let’s break down the milestones Suryakumar is aiming for against South Africa.

1. Could surpass KL Rahul: With 21 T20I fifties, Suryakumar is just one half-century behind KL Rahul’s tally of 22. Given that the upcoming series is four matches long, the odds are in Suryakumar’s favour to go past Rahul’s mark.

The Mumbai-born has been in scintillating form recently and with his high strike rate and consistency, it seems like it is just a matter of time before he sets a new benchmark. Just two more fifties would do the job.

2. Could go past Kane Williamson and Quinton de Kock: Suryakumar has scored 2,544 runs in 74 T20Is. On the other side of the coin, Kane Williamson, Quinton de Kock and Shakib stand at 2,575, 2,584 and 2,551 runs, respectively.

A solid series with the bat in South Africa could push him past all three players in one go. Given his consistency, especially in overseas conditions, the Indian T20I captain will be poised to make this leap and carve out his spot among T20I’s highest run-getters.

3. Could go past Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli: When it comes to Indian batters facing South Africa in T20Is, Rohit Sharma leads the pack with 429 runs, followed by Virat Kohli with 394. Suryakumar who scored 346 runs is not far behind. He is just 84 runs short of Rohit’s total and could surpass both of his legendary seniors if he delivers a strong series.

4. Could go past Nicholas Pooran’s sixes tally: Few players in world cricket can match Suryakumar’s ability to clear the boundary with ease. Tied with Nicholas Pooran at 144 sixes, Suryakumar Yadav is just a maximum away from going past the West Indian powerhouse for the third-most sixes in T20I history. Only Rohit Sharma (205) and Martin Guptill (173) have hit more sixes in T20Is.
