The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 started with a bang, where centuries rained on the very first day. But three centuries attracted the most discussion – Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Two senior legends of Indian cricket and a rising star not only made their respective teams win on the basis of strong century innings but also entertained the fans. Among these too, 14 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a real splash, who missed a double century but in one particular case, he went ahead of the other 21 batsmen who had scored a century. This is the most sixes and the most boundaries.
On the very first day of this tournament which started from 24th December Vaibhav Suryavanshi Batted brilliantly and scored 190 runs. What Vaibhav could not do, Swastik Samal of Odisha did it. This batsman scored a double century in the first match of the tournament itself. 25 year old Swastik scored the first century of his List A career and created history by playing a memorable inning of 212 runs against Saurashtra. But even after this, he lagged behind Vaibhav in terms of scoring boundaries.
Vaibhav scored the most sixes
Bihar’s 14 year old opener Vaibhav played this brilliant innings while facing only 84 balls in the match against Arunachal Pradesh. During this period, he hit a total of 15 sixes, which was more than all the other batsmen. After him, Jharkhand captain Ishan Kishan was second in terms of hitting the most number of sixes, who scored 125 runs in just 39 balls against Karnataka and hit 14 sixes during this period. Whereas Rohit Sharma hit 9 sixes in his innings of 155 runs.
How far ahead of Vaibhav and Rohit?
Not only this, Vaibhav defeated all the batsmen in terms of scoring the most boundaries (fours and sixes). Along with 15 sixes, Vaibhav also hit 16 fours and thus a total of 31 boundaries came off his bat. This was more than Swastik, who scored a double century, who hit 29 boundaries (21 fours, 8 sixes). In this case, Rohit Sharma was at third place, who scored a total of 27 boundaries with 9 sixes and 18 fours. Whereas Virat Kohli, who played an inning of 131 runs, could score only 17 boundaries (14 fours, 3 sixes).
