Chennai Trichy Highway Crash: A tragic road accident in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday night shocked the entire area. In the dark of night, when people were moving towards their respective destinations, a roadways bus going from Tiruchirappalli to Chennai suddenly had a tire burst on the state highway. With the loud sound of tire burst, the bus driver lost his balance and the bus went out of control, climbed the divider and entered the other lane. The two cars coming from the front did not even get a chance to control themselves and the bus directly crushed them.

The accident was so severe that both the cars got stuck under the bus and turned into a pile of iron in no time. People traveling in cars were badly trapped. There was shouting and an atmosphere of chaos was created on the highway. According to the police, 7 people traveling in the cars died on the spot, while 2 people died during treatment. A total of 9 people have died in this accident.

4 people have been seriously injured in the accident. Two children are also said to be included in these. All the injured were immediately admitted to government hospitals in Tittakudi and Perambalur, where they are undergoing treatment. Due to this horrific road accident, there was a several kilometer long jam on the Chennai-Tiruchi National Highway. Traffic came to a complete halt. After about two hours of hard work, the damaged vehicles were removed with the help of a crane and traffic could be restored.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has expressed deep grief over this tragic accident. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and announced compensation from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The families of the deceased will be given financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh each and the injured will be given Rs 1 lakh each.
