Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) College, Sector 26, and Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma (GGDSD) College, Sector 32, won the overall trophy in men’s and women’s categories, respectively, on the concluding day of the 74th PU Inter-College Annual Athletics Meet.
The winning men’s team of SGGS College scored 2,400 points and the women athletes of GGDSD College scored 1,662.5 points to claim the overall trophy.
Geeta of GGDSD College, Sector 32, won the women’s 100m hurdle while Komal of MCM DAV College stood second and Punya of Panjab University Campus third. In the men’s 200m event, Raja Babu of SGGS College, Sector 26, claimed the top podium position and Ashish of GGD SD College came second.
Anjali’s 15.04 m shotput throw landed for a gold medal for GGDSD College, Sector 32. In the men’s category, Iqbal Singh (16.35m) of SGGS College claimed the first position. Prateek Kumar of SGGS College claimed men’s javelin throw event by clearing 65.29m. In the men’s 100m event, Nehal of DAV College, Sector 10, won gold and Sonar Piyush Sachin of GGD SD College finished second. Ashish of SGGS College stood third.
