According to the Panchang, Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month will start on July 12, 2026 at 2:04 am and will end at 10:29 pm on the same day. Therefore, the first Ravi Pradosh fast will be observed on Sunday, July 12, 2026. On this day, Pradosh Kaal for worshiping Lord Shiva will be from 7.22 pm to 9.24 pm. It is believed that worshiping and anointing Shiva with proper rituals at this time gives special results.
When will the second Ravi Pradosh fast be observed?
The second Ravi Pradosh fast of July will fall on 26th July 2026, Sunday. This will be Pradosh fast of Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. On this day, Pradosh Kaal will last from 7:16 pm to 9:21 pm. According to religious beliefs, by performing Jalabhishek, Rudrabhishek and chanting mantras of Lord Shiva during this auspicious time, the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled and obstacles in life are removed.
Worship method of Ravi Pradosh fast
On the day of Ravi Pradosh fast, wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, take a pledge to fast and adopt a virtuous lifestyle throughout the day. During Pradosh period, anoint Lord Shiva’s Shivalinga with Ganga water, milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar. After this, offer Belpatra, Dhatura, Hemp, white flowers and fruits. During the puja, chant Om Namah Shivay mantra and recite Shiva Chalisa or Shiva Stuti. At last, perform aarti of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati and offer your wishes at their feet.

Generally, Pradosh Vrat occurs twice every month, but Ravi Pradosh Vrat falling on Sunday is not observed every time.
