Commercial LPG becomes cheaper for the first time in 2026, price falls below Rs 3000 in Delhi

According to the report, for the first time in the country, a reduction in the prices of commercial gas cylinders has been seen. Due to which the prices of commercial LPG in the country’s capital Delhi have come down to below Rs 3000. Earlier, there was an increase in the prices of commercial gas cylinders 7 times in 6 months. During this period, an increase of more than 90 percent was seen in the price of commercial gas cylinders. There has been no change in the price of domestic gas cylinder. The last change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders was seen on June 7. Let us also tell you what the price of LPG cylinder has become in the major cities of the country.

Commercial gas cylinder price in Delhi

In the year 2026, the price of commercial gas cylinder i.e. 19 kg gas cylinder has seen an increase for the first time. According to media reports, a decrease of Rs 183.50 has been seen in the country’s capital Delhi. After which the price has become Rs 2,930. On the other hand, this time the oil marketing companies have not given any relief to the domestic customers. The price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains at Rs 942.

The attacks by America and Israel on Iran on February 28 this year created a serious energy crisis across the world. Following these attacks, Iran stopped the movement of ships carrying crude oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz, which is under its control. Due to this interruption in supply, there was a huge increase in the prices of petrol, diesel and gas across the world.

LPG cylinder prices in other cities

Commercial cylinder prices have also been reduced in other cities across the country. The price in Lucknow has decreased from Rs 3,236 to Rs 3,052.50. In Kolkata, the cylinder will now be available for Rs 3,081.50, whereas earlier its price was Rs 3,255.50. New prices have also been implemented in Patna, due to which the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder has become Rs 3,227. Meanwhile, the central government has also changed the rules related to export of petrol. From July 1, the government has increased the Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) on petrol exports to Rs 4 per litre. Earlier this duty was Rs 1.5 per liter.

There was a continuous increase

After the interruption in energy supply from the Strait of Hormuz, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders in India were increased a total of four times. Citing huge losses, oil marketing companies increased prices by Rs 144 in March, Rs 195.50 in April and Rs 993 in May. After this, the price of commercial LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 42 in June. In this way, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder increased by a total of Rs 1,374.50 in four installments. The price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder used in homes was also increased by Rs 89 in two installments. Oil marketing companies had first increased the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder by Rs 60 in March. After this there was an increase of Rs 29 in June.
