‘I think I have a record: winning ten races and not leading the championship’ – Francesco Bagnaia

Francesco Bagnaia achieved his tenth MotoGP main race victory of the season this Sunday – becoming only the sixth rider in history to achieve such a feat in the premier class.

However, with one round remaining in the season, he is in second place in the championship, 24 points behind the leader, Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).

The title will be difficult to secure, but no one can take away Bagnaia’s achievement of ten victories. When confronted with this statistic, the Italian Ducati rider replied in a press conference:

– I feel very good and proud about it, but I think I have a record that is winning ten races throughout the season and not leading the championship. So, this is also a good record.
