Lucknow. Now the houses and land built in villages will not only have identity but will also be strong legal documents. With the passing of the Uttar Pradesh Rural Population Bill, 2025 (Household Law) from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, economic and legal avenues have opened for millions of people living in rural areas. With the implementation of this law, not only will villagers be able to take loans from banks, but the problem of property related disputes and being deprived of government schemes is also expected to end to a great extent.

Rural ownership will get legal recognition

UP Government Minister Jaiveer Singh told in the House that this bill has been brought to give legal recognition to the ownership records of rural areas. The Gharauni prepared through drone survey will now be easier to preserve, update periodically and manage legally. With this, villagers will be able to be provided with solid documents for their land and houses.

Will get loan from bank to build house

The biggest benefit of getting Gharauni will be that villagers will be able to easily take bank loans on the basis of their property. Till now, due to lack of solid documents, people of villages were deprived of financial facilities. Apart from this, with the preparation of correct land records, the benefits of Gram Panchayats and government development schemes will also reach the villagers directly.

These important information will be recorded in Gharauni

The name of the owner, complete details of the plot, area, sketch and spatial information will be recorded in the house document. This will bring transparency in identification and verification of assets and reduce the possibility of any kind of dispute.

Drone survey completed in 90,573 villages

Minister Jaiveer Singh said that an MOU has been signed between the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh regarding the ownership scheme. About 1,10,344 villages of the state have been brought under the ambit of this scheme. Of these, drone survey has been completed in 90,573 villages. At present only the survey of uninhabited villages is left. By May, more than 1 crore 6 lakh houses had been prepared, out of which more than 1 crore 1 lakh houses had been distributed to the villagers.

There will be reduction in property disputes

Till now, there were no clear rules regarding change and modification of name after becoming a householder due to inheritance, succession, sale or other reasons. With the implementation of this bill, the process of name change and amendment will be decided. The government believes that this will reduce property disputes in rural areas and increase transparency in all land related works.
