Increasing loans, poverty and ‘Kalyug ka Kansa Mama’… Why did the helpless mother sell her child? The story will make you emotional

A case that puts humanity to shame has come to light in Araria district of Bihar. Here a laborer family took a loan from a finance company to raise their children. When the loan installments were defaulted, the agent of the finance company started threatening them, due to which the family got scared. Frightened parents sold their one and a half year old son for Rs 9,000. The child’s uncle arranged the deal and he himself grabbed the money. The person to whom the maternal uncle sold the child sold it to Bengaluru for Rs 2 lakh.

The villagers came to know about the child being sold. He donated Rs 9,000 to the child’s maternal uncle and asked for it back. He became reluctant to give birth to the child. The matter reached the police through social media. The police have recovered the child with the help of an organization. However, no action has been taken yet in this matter.

Had taken a loan of Rs 50 thousand

Rehana Khatoon, resident of ward number 6 of Pachira Panchayat, had taken a loan of Rs 50 thousand from micro finance, in which she had deposited 3 to 4 installments. After that she became unable to repay the loan. The company agent was coming to the woman’s house every month to collect the loan installment. He used to threaten the woman loudly, due to which the entire family was troubled. According to the family, the loan agent threatened to send them to jail if they could not repay the loan, after which the family got scared.

The child’s maternal uncle made the deal

The woman Rehana Khatoon discussed this matter with her parents. After which the woman’s brother Tanveer talked to Arif of Dumariya village. On which the child’s maternal uncle explained that you have 8 children, sell one child. He will be brought up in a good home and after that the debt will also be paid off with the money. Heeded by her brother’s words, the woman, on her husband’s advice, sold a child to Arif for Rs 9,000.

Appropriated the money for selling the child herself

The child’s aunt Arsadi Khatoon told that the child’s maternal uncle did not even give money to the family after making the deal. He told the whole story to his villagers. Everyone donated together and after collecting Rs 9 thousand, she took her brother along with her to Arif’s house to bring the children, but the children were not given to them. Here, after 2 days of the incident, the matter reached the city with the help of social media. Information about which was received by an organization called Jagran Kalyan Bharti. The people of the organization informed this to Forbesganj police station incharge Sanjay Kumar.

Police recovered the child

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police station incharge informed Raniganj police station incharge Nirmal Kumar Yadvendu. After which the police station head sent Additional Police Station Head Kanaklata to investigate and the child was found in Arif’s house. Arif told that the child’s parents are poor, so he has brought him to take care of the children. When the child’s parents and aunt were called to the police station, they came to know that they had been sold for Rs 9,000. The family did not even get the money after selling the child. His maternal uncle kept all the money. In this matter, a case number 1141/24 has been registered in the police station and the children have been handed over to the Child Welfare Committee. The Child Welfare Committee will decide with whom the child will now remain.

Father is a daily wage laborer, earns Rs 3-4 thousand a month

The child’s father Aaron is a daily wage labourer. Sometimes he gets work as a laborer, sometimes he doesn’t. He barely earns 3 to 4 thousand rupees a month. Apart from this, he has 8 children, out of which 5 are boys and 3 are girls. One of which is a one and a half year old son, whom he sold for Rs 9 thousand. Arif, who bought the child, had sold it in Bengaluru for Rs 2 lakh.

This is the reason why the child’s maternal uncle had kept Rs 9,000 as commission and after getting the money, he would give Rs 9,000 to the child’s family. Whereas only the installment of Rs 9 thousand had to be paid to the family in the form of loan. At present, no action has been taken against anyone in this matter. A case has been registered in the police station and the children have been recovered.
