Famous fashion designer Rohit Bal said goodbye to the world at the age of 63. Even though not everyone is aware of Rohit’s face among the common people, Rohit Bal was a big name in the world of fashion. For those who have even a little understanding of the fashion world, Rohit’s departure is no less than a shock. Rohit was the person who took the craftsmanship to the stage. Rohit also used to design the outfits of Bollywood emperor Amitabh Bachchan in his television show ‘Kaun Banegi Crorepati’.

Rohit was honored with many awards for his work. Rohit aspired to become a fashion designer since childhood, hence, after completing his graduation, he took up fashion and studied at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. In the year 1986, Rohit along with his brother Rajiv founded Orchid Overseas Pvt. Limited Company established. However, when he launched his independent show in 1990, it took the fashion world by storm.

In Rohit’s collection, clothes were designed for both men and women. After this Rohit Bal opened his first flagship store in New Delhi. Rohit had many stores all over India. Many celebs wore his designed clothes and walked the ramp. In the year 1996, Time magazine gave Rohit the title of ‘Fabric Master’ of India. Rohit used to roam around with magic in his hands. The royalty of India was reflected in his clothes. The blend of traditional patterns with this royalty made her pieces even more lively. It is said that Rohit was greatly inspired by the art of Mughal and Gupta period. There were many references to lotus and peacock in his pieces.

Rohat was awarded many prestigious awards for his work. In the year 2006, Rohit Bal received the ‘Designer of the Year’ award at the Indian Fashion Awards. Apart from this, in the year 2012, she was awarded the ‘Lakme Grand Finale Designer’ award. Rohit received the Men’s Most Stylish Evening Wear Award at PETA’s Vegan Fashion Awards in 2013. In the year 2012, he was awarded the title of the country’s most iconic fashion designer. After Rohit’s departure, there is a void in the fashion world which hardly anyone will be able to fill.
