Muzaffarpur: Lamps lit on Diwali and houses reduced to ashes… 18 families rendered homeless, left without even food

A major accident took place on the occasion of Diwali in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. There was chaos in Dhanaur village of Katra police station area due to the incident of fire on the night of Diwali. Due to the fire, more than one and a half dozen houses were burnt to ashes. The fire broke out due to short-circuit. People informed the fire brigade team about the fire but the fire brigade team did not reach on time and many houses were burnt to ashes.

There was a commotion in Dhanaur village of Katra police station area when people were celebrating Diwali. A fire broke out in the village due to short-circuit. Within no time the fire became very scary and engulfed the nearby houses. Seeing the flames increasing, people started running here and there. People have suffered loss of property worth lakhs in this accident.

Loss worth lakhs

The people of the village somehow controlled the fire. People told that the fire brigade team was informed but the fire brigade team could not reach on time. Due to which the houses were burnt to ashes. In this incident, the houses of many people including Jian Sahni, Ramchandra Sahni and Bijli Sahni, residents of ward number two, were burnt to ashes. Property worth lakhs including grains and clothes kept in the house was burnt.

The accident happened due to short-circuit

Regarding the incident, Katra police station chief Abhishek said that the fire occurred due to short-circuit. In which more than one and a half dozen houses were burnt to ashes. The villagers had informed the fire brigade team but the team was delayed in arriving. Due to which the fire became huge in no time. He said that it is a matter of relief that there is no information about any casualty in this incident. After the information, the police team reached the spot. He said that information about the incident has been given to the Circle Officer.
