As companies embrace artificial intelligence (AI) faster than ever, business school graduates are becoming the top choice for employers — especially those who can combine AI awareness with strategic thinking.
The 2025 GMAC Corporate Recruiters Survey, based on responses from 1,108 recruiters in 46 countries, shows that B-school graduates are increasingly preferred for leadership and decision-making roles in today’s tech-driven world. AI literacy, it says, is no longer a bonus — it’s a must-have.
AI SKILLS + BUSINESS THINKING = PERFECT COMBO
While automation and tech skills are key, employers are also looking for soft skills that machines can’t offer — like communication, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. Over half of the recruiters said these human skills still top their hiring checklists.
Nearly 99% of global recruiters said they’re confident in the way business schools are preparing students. And about 90% plan to hire MBAs in 2025 — more than those with just work experience or undergraduate degrees.
Online degrees are gaining ground too. Around 55% of employers now see online and hybrid B-school programmes as equal to traditional formats.
GEN Z, HYBRID WORK AND FUTURE CAREERS
With remote and hybrid work now the norm, 56% of recruiters said B-school grads are better prepared for this reality.
While 61% of employers believe Gen Z professionals are as polished as previous batches, client-facing industries like consulting and healthcare are a bit more cautious.
GMAC’s CEO Joy Jones summed it up well: “Employers continue to turn to business school graduates for their versatility and strategic thinking.”
