Team India’s new captain Shreyas Iyer’s debut was not good and he lost to Ireland in the T20 series. But away from the hustle and bustle of T20 cricket, Zimbabwe’s new captain Richard Ngarawa has started with a record win as Test captain. Under the captaincy of Ngarawa, who is commanding the team in Test cricket for the first time, Zimbabwe defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 85 runs in the only Test match in just 3 days. On the third day of the match, Zimbabwe’s fast bowlers including captain Ngarawa bowled out Bangladesh for just 185 runs in the second innings.

This is how Bangladesh was destroyed in 3 days

On the first day of this match which started on June 28 at Harare Sports Club, Bangladesh’s first innings was reduced to just 140 runs. After this, Zimbabwe’s batsmen scored a lot of runs and scored 410 runs and took a lead of 270 runs. The opener played a big role in this Innocent Kaia Ne, who returned to the team after 3 years and scored 140 runs scoring his first century. Then by the end of the second day’s play, Bangladesh had scored 40 runs after losing 1 wicket in the second innings.

Tuesday, June 30, was the third day of the match and Bangladesh had a difficult challenge to end Zimbabwe’s lead. This challenge proved to be impossible in the end and all four fast bowlers of Zimbabwe together defeated Bangladesh. Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani took the maximum four wickets for the team, while captain Ngarawa took 3, Newman Niamhuri took 2 and Brad Evans took 1 wicket. For Bangladesh, captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 30 and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 34 runs.

Why is this victory special for Zimbabwe?

This victory is very special for Zimbabwe because the team had entered this match without its star all-rounder Sikandar Raza. At the same time, the Bangladeshi team looked very strong recently, where it clean swept Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series at home. But this victory is also special because it is Zimbabwe’s biggest victory in its 34-year Test history. Also, for the first time since 2001, the team has won by an innings margin in two consecutive Test matches.
