Lucknow. On the occasion of Farmers Honor Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the hard work and dedication of the farmers and encouraged them. He mentioned the happiness of the farmers who got tractors under Kisan Samriddhi Yojana and said that some farmers are taking their mother and some are taking their wife in the tractor. This is the real strength of the farmer.
Mother Earth spits out gold due to the hard work of farmers: CM Yogi
CM Yogi said that the farmer sweats regardless of cold, heat and difficult conditions. When he gathers the cold in his bones and flows energy with Mother Earth, then farming spits out gold in the form of food production. These farmers are the real capital of the country.
Tribute paid to Chaudhary Charan Singh, tractor distribution and honor ceremony
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered flowers to the statue of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birthday in the Vidhan Bhavan premises. After this, in the ‘Kisan Samman Diwas’ programme, the keys of the tractor were handed over to the farmers and farmers, scientists and FPOs were honoured. On this occasion, he also inaugurated the process of plot allotment of Chaudhary Charan Singh Seed Park, Attari Lucknow by pressing the button.
After 2014, farmers became part of the government’s agenda.
CM Yogi said that for the first time in 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, farmers became an important part of the government’s agenda. The earth is our mother and we are her sons. It is the responsibility of the son to contribute to the mother’s relief when she is in trouble.
He told that in 2014, understanding the health of Mother Earth started through Soil Health Card. After this, Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, MSP guarantee and facilities to farmers from seed to market were continuously increased.
Now farmers get the benefits of every government scheme
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi increased the honor of farmers by giving Bharat Ratna to the messiah of farmers, Chaudhary Charan Singh. Agricultural loan redemption scheme was implemented for small and marginal farmers in UP. Earlier the farmer was away from the government schemes, but today he is getting direct benefits of every scheme. Now the middleman does not decide the price of the crop. If fair price is not available in the market, the government itself purchases the crop.
Crop production increased in UP, costs decreased
CM Yogi said that the production of crops like paddy, wheat, gram, mustard, millet, maize in Uttar Pradesh has increased manifold and the cost has decreased. This is the strong foundation of farmers’ prosperity.
Chaudhary Charan Singh was well-wisher of the country, village and farmers.
Recalling the thoughts of Chaudhary Charan Singh, CM Yogi said that he used to say – India cannot become rich as long as the farmers remain poor. Rural India is the real India. He played an important role in abolition of Zamindari, Land Reforms Act, Mandi Act, abolition of Patwari system, exemption in land revenue to small-marginal farmers, making fertilizers tax free and establishment of NABARD.
Farmers are moving towards prosperity in UP
CM Yogi said that about Rs 75 thousand crore more has been paid to the farmers in the last 8 years than what was paid for sugarcane from 1996 to 2017. The early sugarcane price for the crushing season 2025-26 has been fixed at Rs 400 per quintal. He said that with new technology and better seeds, farmers are producing more at lower costs.
Expansion of agricultural science centers, ministers are also farmers
The Chief Minister said that the double engine government has established 20 new Krishi Vigyan Kendras in 8 years. Their number in UP has now reached 89, which is more than any other state. He said that Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Chaudhary Lakshmi Narayan, Baldev Singh Aulakh are farmers themselves and Sanjay Nishad is promoting fish production.
Production will increase through seeds, technology and training
CM Yogi said that a seed park is being built in Lucknow with modern technology. By getting quality seeds on time, production can increase by 30 percent. A modern tissue culture lab is being developed in Barabanki, which will make a big contribution in the cultivation of sugarcane, banana and potato.
Farmers will be healthy and prosperous through technology and natural farming
CM Yogi said that sugarcane farmers in Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Bahraich have made a record of production of one thousand quintals per hectare. He said that if a farmer gets technology, fertilizers and seeds on time, he will be prosperous. Natural farming is the only way to prevent diseases.
Speed up the pace of schemes in the interest of farmers: CM Yogi
The Chief Minister said that the loans of 16 lakh farmers connected to private tube wells have been waived off. The government is spending Rs 3600 crore every year on electricity subsidy. Now farmers will get loan at 6 percent interest through LDB. The pace of the schemes is no longer slow and the government is standing with the farmers at every step.
